I keep watching people react like something unpredictable just happened.
Every week it’s the same energy. Shock. Rage. Think pieces.
“How did we get here?”
And I honestly don’t know how to answer that without sounding irritated because… we watched ourselves get here.
None of this started this year.
It didn’t start in 2016 either.
Before politics, DT spent forty years being extremely public about exactly how he operates. Not rumors. Not secret tapes.
Court cases around rxpe allegations. Interviews. Statements. The Central Park Five ads. Lawsuits from people who worked for him. The whole persona built on retaliation and loyalty above everything else. It wasn’t hidden. It was the brand.
People didn’t miss the information.
They decided it didn’t matter.
Then he governed exactly the same way he lived. Pressure, spectacle, personal loyalty over institutional limits, refusal to accept loss, and eventually January 6. At that point nobody was guessing about style anymore. We had already seen the full version under real stakes.
So when people react now like we just discovered something about his character, I don’t understand the shock. You can be upset. You can be angry. But surprised?
That part feels performative.
And it’s not just him.
Look at the reaction to Pam right now. People are talking like a moral line was suddenly crossed, like a principled public servant made an unthinkable decision. But her career has always shown who benefits from her judgment calls and who doesn’t. The hierarchy of loyalty versus accountability was never subtle.
Again, the information existed.
What changed is that more people finally feel it personally enough to notice.
This is a pattern I can’t unsee. We don’t react when behavior appears. We react when the consequences reach us.
So every cycle becomes emotional discovery instead of sticking to clear pattern recognition. We keep narrating these moments like someone transformed in front of us instead of admitting we ignored the continuity.
There are basically two groups right now.
People who just realized what’s been obvious for years, and people still negotiating with reality because accepting it would break something they built identity around.
We didn’t elect mysteries who revealed themselves. We elected biographies and hoped power would soften them.
It didn’t. I wouldn’t.
This isn’t escalation.
It’s continuation.
